Solar eclipse

Midnight falls in prepared cool

August 21st arrives in anticipation,

Not verbal tension.

Look skyward to feel the shift–

Sun, moon, earth as One.

Two minute totality so still,

A tear fell–a diamond ring show,

A rainbow sign, a burning corona circle.

Breathe. Deeply.

Even the air trees cars grass whispered.

“It must be Christmas,” someone said.

The sky brightens at noon for lunch.

The day moves on.

We felt the eclipse so far, yet so personal.

Nature /science/NASA/and 2024.

Jackson Hole, Wyo is booking now

For that next big event:  that first kiss

Of the wonder mystery of the Moon’s

Shadow on Earth and the Sun’s light.

Save those glasses.
